T60

T60LB

Challenge Accepted

The high-thrust T60 has been specifically designed to provide the extra grunt when you need to move big loads such as sailboats and heavy pontoons. Utilising a dual-thrust design the T60 produces twice the thrust of comparable two-strokes within the 2,000 to 3,000 RPM range, while delivering Yamaha’s the legendary reliability, durability, and efficiency that Yamaha Outboards are renown for. The key mechanical difference between the T60 and the standard four-stroke platform is the use of a higher 2.33:1 gear ratio. This allows the T60 to spin a much larger propeller, generating more power to the water and resulting in less slippage.  The T60 can be fitted with Yamaha’s patented Dual Thrust propellers. These propellers provide maximum traction in both forward and reverse, by re-routing the exhaust when in reverse.

  • Features

    • Yamaha’s proven labyrinth exhaust system reduces engine noise at low RPM and idle. A water sealed outer wall around the exhaust muffler effectively reduces exhaust tone for whisper quiet operation and enhances cooling which protects the exhaust system against corrosion.
    • One of Yamaha's best selling controls, this mechanical remote offers comfort, simplicity and flexibility. With its new ergonomic grip, reversible right-hand or left-hand installation, and convenient trim and tilt operation, this control offers all-round functionality and value.
    • These high-quality aluminium props are ideal for heavier hulled boats such as fiberglass and plate aluminium, as well as modified V-type hulls, catamarans, pontoon and commercial work launches. Incorporating Yamaha's Shift Dampener System (SDS), these props deliver quiet and smooth shifting.
    • A higher gear ratio of 2.33:1 allows the FT25 to operate using a large diameter propeller. This improved capacity enables the outboard to push greater volumes of water and achieve increased thrust.
    • The FT60 is available as a mechanical forward-control option, suitable for center console and side console boats.
    • Designed for sailboats and other large displacement craft, Yamaha’s dual thrust props are built to push heavy loads through the water. The hub is carefully designed to redirect exhaust flow away from the blades, cutting through clean water for higher efficiency and better acceleration.
    • The large cubic-capacity, eight-valve, four-cylinder, single overhead camshaft, long-stroke, marine engine delivers impressive torque from low-to-mid speed ranges, resulting in a quick response and ability to push big loads. Large engine mounts reduce noise and minimise vibrations, for a more enjoyable boating experience.
    • This highly-polished, stylish looking, top mounted control allows for effortless one-handed control. The ergonomic design features a thumb operated trim and tilt switch built into the handle, as well as shift and throttle control functions, for convenient and comfortable operation.
    • The T60 can be fitted with Yamaha’s large-diameter, low pitch, Dual Thrust propellers. These propellers have been designed to give instant power in both forward and reverse, by redirecting exhaust gases way from the propeller, reducing reverse ventilation and generating more power to the water. This increases forward thrust by up to 60% and reverse thrust by up to 70%.
    • This engine is compatible with Yamaha's Digital Network Gauges (Command Link), giving you the information needed to maximise engine performance and efficiency, including a Tachometer, Hours Run, Trim Angle, Oil Pressure, Warning lamps, Variable Trolling Control, Speed/Fuel and Fuel Economy.
    • This engine is controlled by an advanced microprocessor Engine Control Module (ECM), which receives inputs from six major sensors located throughout the engine. This information is used to ensure the engine runs at peak performance, by delivering the right fuel/air mixture to each combustion chamber.
    • Simply connect a hose to the easy access connector to flush salt and dirt from the outboard without having to run the engine. Flushing the engine after each usage reduces corrosion and extends the engines life.
    • All Yamaha high-thrust outboard models utilise a lower-mounted gear case design, featuring a high gear ratio. The gears are specially hardened to withstand the toughest working conditions - for long-term durability.
    • The Multi-Point Electronic Fuel Injection (EFI) system, in conjunction with the Engine Control Module (ECM), injects the right amount of fuel into the combustion chamber at the optimum timing. This results in ‘first-time, every-time’ hot and cold starting, improved fuel efficiency and excellent throttle response.
    • A 12-Volt 16-Amp high-output alternator ensures that power is always available to start the engine, even after long periods of idling or running at low revs. This not only provides extra starting power, but delivers sufficient power to run the wide array of on-board electronic devices used in modern boating.
    • Yamaha’s push-button trim control makes engine trim and tilt adjustments quick, smooth and easy, across a wide trim range. The negative trim settings allow for improved acceleration and the ability to bring the boat onto the plane more quickly.
    • Yamaha’s variable trolling control allows you to precisely adjust the engine’s idling speed from 650 to 900 RPM in 50 RPM increments. The ability to finely tune the trolling speed allows fisherman to perfect their lure presentation when chasing different species of fish.
    • Yamaha engines are known for their durability and high re-sale value. Part of this lies in the anti-corrosion protection. A unique YDC-30 aluminium alloy and 5-stage exterior paint coating process protects the engine's exterior parts, while high-quality, marine-grade, stainless steel componentry is used throughout, for long-lasting protection.
    • Yamaha's optional Customer Outboard Protection (Y-COP) engine immobiliser system is easy to use and highly effective in stopping unauthorised start-ups when your boat is unattended. Simply push the button on the neat and simple remote to lock and unlock the engine.
    • With its stylish chrome finish and ergonomic design, this mechanical control not only looks good, but provides effortless one-hand operation. The trim and tilt switch is comfortably located on the handle and features easily accessible neutral warm-up controls and externally adjustable throttle friction.
    • Prop choice makes a huge difference to outboard acceleration, top-end speed, handling and fuel efficiency. That is why Yamaha continues to push the technological boundaries in the design and development of our leading range of high performance props - ensuring every Yamaha outboard performs at its peak.
    • Yamaha offers a range of rigging options to suit every boat. Check out the full suite of controls, gauges, switches, props and other technologies, plus outboard performance data.
